Law Enforcement Torch Run & Pledge Drive

The Alaska Law Enforcement Torch Run and Pledge Drive to benefit Special Olympics will be held in Delta Junction on May 21st at 10 am. 

The 5K run will start at the Delta Junction Visitors Center and continue east on the Alaska Highway to Emmaus Road and back to the Visitors Center. 

Registration will be handled before the run at the Visitor Center.  Single registration is $15.00.  Single registration with a T-shirt is $25.00. 

Please stop at the State Trooper office in Delta Junction for registration and pledge forms.  These forms will also be available before the run.

This is a great way for families and neighbors to get out and stretch their legs, get some fresh air and support training and competition programs for more than one thousand Alaskan athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Rural Development Initiative Fund Update

The Alaska Division of Investments report recent legislative changes to the Rural Development Initiative (RDIF) loan program.  The purpose of the RDIF is to provide private sector employment by financing the start-up and expansion of businesses that will create significant long-term employment.

Recent changes to the loan program are:

· Alaskan borrowers, that qualify, may now have multiple RDIF loans;
· Total outstanding balances on all RDIF loans may not exceed $150,000 for one person or $300,000 for two or more persons; and
· Interest rate is not less than 4% (down from 6%).

       (Current interest rate for RDIF loans is 4%)
