Increase your odds of small business success by learning how to prepare a strategic business plan. Sound business plans are required by lending institutions and equity investors in order to determine potential business viability for loan or investment.

Publicity for Small Businesses       
10am-1pm

If a tree falls in an empty forest, does it make a sound?  If a small business writes a dynamite press release but it lies forlorn and neglected in the newspaper’s fax machine, does anyone see it?  Fact is, in today’s climate, the difference between a successful publicity campaign and tanking spectacularly is often out of the control of those who run small businesses. News organizations have dwindling staffs and downsized space; the marketplace is crowded with entities wanting some of the valuable publicity real estate; and paying “professionals” to market and conduct PR campaigns is out of the budget question.

Friday Nov. 12       Selecting a Legal Business Form     
Participants will learn the basic steps and requirements to form a Limited Liability Company and incorporating in the State of Alaska. This workshop will include discussions relating to Limited Liability Companies and C & S Corporations, including the pros and cons of each as compared to other business types
1pm -4pm                   Fee $30

Tuesday  Nov. 16   How to Write a Business Plan

There is a 48 hour cancellation policy.  To receive a full refund you must cancel your registration within two business days of the event.  No refunds will be given after this date. To help you in the event of unavoidable, last minute cancellations, all registrations can be transferred to the next class, or a class of equal dollar value.  All registrations are transferable to another person upon your request.

Failure to comply with government regulations for payroll withholdings and deposits can be a costly mistake for small businesses.  You will learn about payroll record keeping, withholdings and deposits in the practical introductory workshop.
