All across Alaska, from new greenhouses in Nikolski, a community of 26 on the Aleutian chain, to Bethel, to large barley farms in Delta, to the explosion of new farmers markets across the state, Alaskans are growing more and more food locally. With rising fuel prices, locally grown food is becoming more economically viable. There are exciting opportunities for local communities and businesses to create jobs, and improve the health of Alaskans.
