The Alaska Presidential Preference Poll is coming soon!
Tuesday, March 6 from 4 to 8 pm is Super Tuesday in Alaska.
Delta area Republicans will be voting for their favorite Republican candidate for President of the United States.
Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum will all be on the ballot. Voting will take place at the Delta Junction Community Center and you must be a registered Republican to vote. Voters may change their party affiliation at the community center as well as updating their addresses, etc. The results of the poll will be used to determine how many delegates will be sent to the Republican National Convention in Tampa for each candidate.
The Saturday immediately following Super Tuesday, Republicans will hold our biennial District Convention in Glennallen at the Glennallen High School. Registration will begin that morning at 8:00 am. The Convention will begin at 10:00 am. All delegates will pay a delegate fee of $20 the day of the convention. Those who register early will receive a discount and pay $15 per person for their delegate fee. Lunch will be included in the fee.
Delegates to the District convention will be conducting very important business including the election of District officers for the next two years, election of delegates and alternates to the state convention, and changes to the party rules, platform and resolutions. All of the rules, platform changes and resolutions passed at district convention will be forwarded to the state convention to be considered by that body.
The Alaska Republican State Convention will be held April 26-28 in Anchorage. You must attend the district convention to be elected as a delegate to represent our district at the state convention. The district convention will consist of the NEW District 6 which is made up of old district 12 and the rest of Delta and a little more of the Mat-Su minus Eielson Air Force Base.
All of the Delta Junction area will be in this new district, except for Dry Creek. Those wishing to be part of the District Convention in Glennallen on March 10, but unable to attend, may participate by teleconference.
