Taylor Levinson to Receive Eagle Scout Award

Taylor Levinson, 18, of Boy Scout Troop 56 will be honored at a special Eagle Scout ceremony Saturday, March 26th, at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.  The public, and especially Scouts and former Scouts, is invited to attend.

To earn Scouting’s highest award, Taylor had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop, and complete a major community service project.

Taylor’s service project was a garden path between the Delta Library and the Senior/Community Center .  Leading his fellow Scouts, and other volunteers, he had the area created as a boardwalk which will accommodate hanging flower baskets.  The project took more than three months to develop and carry through to completion.

Taylor has been a member of Troop 56, chartered to the First Baptist Church, for 7 years.  He has served as patrol leader, and senior patrol leader.

Taylor is a senior at Delta High School.  He plans to enter the engineering program at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks this fall.
