The weather was a perfect day for soup; and folks were delighted with the aromas that met them when they entered the Sullivan Roadhouse Museum on Wednesday, August 18th. Thanks to everyone who contributed to or attended the 5th Annual Soup at the Sullivan with approximately 80 people in attendance. This event, hosted by the Delta Chamber of Commerce, treated the community to a variety of homemade soups, breads, ice cream, and tea. Donations from this event go to the continued support of the roadhouse gardens.
Special thanks to Lou Ann Fett, Debra Fortune, and Kathy Trim for their assistance in setting up the dining areas. To our wonderful bakers and soup makers: Carol Dufendach, Sandy Dighton, Courtney & Jeff Durham, Lou Ann Fett, Debra Fortune, Ann Geise, Phil Kaspari, Carol McNabb, Donna Molitor, Linda Sloan, Janice Templin-Weller, Kathy Trim, and Mark Weller. More thanks to Carol & Hailey McNabb for preparing and serving their delicious homemade ice cream; Ruby Hollembaek made a delightful rhubarb sauce to be served with the ice cream, thank you “Rhuby”. Additional thanks to Kathy for the tea and beverage service and clean up. More thanks to Carol Dufencach, Lou Ann (all your special touches are appreciated), Debra, and Janice for being there and helping where needed, and assisting in clean up. Thanks to the Dani Markham, Events Coordinator and the Delta Chamber of Commerce for hosting this event and making it possible. If I missed anyone, I do apologize, and hope you know that your help was appreciated. One last thanks goes to everyone who attended and made this event such a pleasure to coordinate and attend.
Sincerely, Christy Roden and the roadhouse gardens
